SMS templates are created through the Belio Cloud Portal. There is no API for template creation.
  1. Log in to the Belio Cloud Portal and open Message templates from the sidebar, or go directly to the Message templates page.
  2. Click to create a new template and fill in the form:
  • Share with the team — when on, everyone on your team can find and use this template. When off, it stays private to you.
  • Category (required) — Marketing, Utility, or Authentication.
  • Tags (optional) — makes the template easier to find later.
  • Description (required) — a short description of the template’s purpose.
  • Message (required) — the template content, up to 960 characters. Wrap words in double curly braces to mark them as placeholders, e.g. {{name}}, {{orderId}}, or {{1}}. You can also use the Add placeholder button to insert one.
  1. Optionally, under Belio-managed sender, link the template to an approved Belio-managed service (e.g. Belio OTP) if your team has one.
If you link a Belio-managed sender, custom templates using it must be reviewed and approved by Belio before they can be sent. See Belio-managed Senders and Approval.
